T20 World Cup Final: India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a special call to the heroes of Team India’s T20 World Cup triumph. India defeated South Africa by seven runs, lifting their first ICC trophy since the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy under MS Dhoni‘s leadership. During the call, PM Modi interacted with captain Rohit Sharma, praising his leadership skills. Modi also called superstar batsman Virat Kohli and outgoing head coach Rahul Dravid.

All the members of the Indian cricket team deserve all the praise in the world. After all, they have brought smiles to the faces of the Indian public. PM Modi also made a special effort and reached out to Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Rahul Dravid. It’s worth highlighting that Rohit and Virat have both announced their retirement from T20Is, while Dravid had already announced that he would be stepping down as the head coach of the Indian cricket team after the T20 World Cup.
“PM Narendra Modi spoke to the Indian Cricket Team on the phone today and congratulated the entire team. He congratulated Rohit Sharma for his splendid captaincy and appreciated his T20 career. He lauded Virat Kohli for his innings in the final as well as his contribution to Indian cricket,” as per news agency PTI.
PM Modi went to his social media handle and showered praise on the members of Indian cricket team. He lauded Dravid for his unwavering dedication and ability to nurture raw talent. For the unversed, Dravid is set to leave the post of head coach. Back in June this year, Dravid already announced that the T20 World Cup was going to be his last assignment as the coach of Team India.
