KKR vs PBKS IPL 2024: Will Shikhar Dhawan Play Today’s IPL Match?
Shikhar Dhawan last played for PBKS against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 9, and has missed last three games since then owing to a shoulder injury. It’s an understatement to say that Punjab have missed the services of their talismanic captain during a tough run.
According to PBKS bowling coach Sunil Joshi, the 38-year-old will be missing PBKS’ next match against the Kolkata Knight Riders as well, as he is going through a recovery phase.

“He was in form and we really missed his batting services. We saw him batting yesterday, going through the nets and everything,” Joshi said ahead of PBKS’ match against KKR in Kolkata.
However, Joshi was optimistic about Dhawan’s availability in the next match when Punjab Kings plays reigning champions Chennai Super Kings on May 01.
He is on road to recovery. Hopefully, he should be fit for the next match (against Chennai Super Kings),” Joshi added.

Time And Games Running Out For PBKS
When season started, there was hope that Punjab Kings can at least make a sustain run-in at the top four. Not since 2014 that this team has finished in the top-four, and remain without playoff games as a result. So the IPL 2024 campaign is on the same failure path as the last few seasons, marred by disappointments.
With only 6 games remaining in the season, and PBKS sitting 2nd from bottom having won just twice in the previous 8 games, there’s absolutely no margin for error, not even one game can go the opponents way, if this team wants to have any chance to finish in the top-four.
