LSG vs RR IPL 2024: Fast bowling sensation Mayank Yadav is nearing a return after recovering from an abdominal injury that sidelined him for the last four games for Lucknow Super Giants. The 21-year-old shot to stardom overnight after showcasing a breathtaking display of speed and precision in his IPL debut match against Punjab Kings, where he troubled both Jonny Bairstow and Shikhar Dhawan with his outrageous pace. However, his sensational start to the IPL campaign was cut short by an abdominal injury, which he suffered during the match against Gujarat Titans on April 7th.
LSG vs RR IPL 2024: Will Mayank Yadav Play In Today’s IPL Match?
As Lucknow Super Giants prepare to host Rajasthan Royals in a crucial Indian Premier League match, all eyes are on Mayank Yadav’s availability and whether he would be deemed fit enough to return to LSG’s Playing XI.
Ahead of LSG vs RR IPL 2024 match, LSG‘s assistant coach S Sriram provided a major update regarding the fitness of pace bowling sensation. During an interview, Sriram revealed that the 21-year-old has started bowling in the nets, and is nearing a return.
“He’s bowling today in the nets,” Sriram said ahead of the crunch tie. “So we’ll find out how he pulls up after today, he’s pretty close, so ya hopefully, fingers crossed,” Sriram said.

So that means, Mayank might actually play in this match, provided he passes a late fitness test. If Mayank is declared fit, then either Mohsin Khan or Yash Thakur might be the player making way for the 21-year-old pace sensation.
Sriram: “Execution & Lengths Have Been Standout”
Sriram also highlighted that more than the pace, what has impressed about Mayank is his execution and the length with which he is bowling.
“I think he’s a pretty grounded person, I’ve just worked with him for the last month or so.”
“He seems very mature, and he knows his body well, which is very good for a young rookie fast bowler.
“More than the pace that he’s provided, I think his execution and the lengths that he’s hit have been standout for me. The number 155 is a by-product of his rhythm and the run-up speed and the arm speed, but the accuracy with which he’s bowled has stood out, and for me, that is critical.”
LSG Probable Playing XI vs RR if Mayank is Fit
Since LSG are on a good run, expectations are they might name the similar playing 11 from the last match. But the change will happen if Mayank Yadav is fit to play.
LSG’s Playing XI if Mayank Yadav is fit: Quinton de Kock, KL Rahul (C/WK), Marcus Stoinis, Devdutt Padikkal, Nicholas Pooran, Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, Matt Henry, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohsin Khan, Mayank Yadav (IMPACT PLAYER)
