Will Shikhar Dhawan Play Today’s IPL Match CSK vs PBKS IPL 2024
Shikhar Dhawan hasn’t played since PBKS‘ match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 9, missing four straight games. The veteran Indian batter is recovering from a shoulder injury. Before PBKS‘ last match against KKR, bowling coach Sunil Joshi stated that he hope to have Punjab Kings’ captain Shikhar Dhawan back for the match against reigning champions Chennai Super Kings.
“Shikhar Dhawan was injured on the ground, we miss his batting services. He is on the road to recovery. We saw him batting at the nets. Hopefully, he is in the recovery process and will be fit for the next game,” Joshi was quoted as saying before the match against KKR.
Although there’s no official update yet from PBKS camp on the fitness of Dhawan ahead of CSK vs PBKS IPL match, it is expected that he might return to the Punjab’s Playing XI for this match.

PBKS Expected Playing 11 when Dhawan returns
Given Prabhsimran Singh and Jonny Bairstow‘s stellar performance during the chase against KKR, it’s improbable that the duo will be dropped from Punjab’s Playing 11.
However, as Dhawan is not only the captain but also a key batsman in the team, he will likely return to the playing 11. This could mean that Harpreet Brar and Rahul Chahar might be the players to make way for the former Indian opener.
