CSK vs PBKS IPL 2024: Who Is Richard Gleeson?
Richard Gleeson made his first-class debut in August 2015 at the age of 27 while working as a full-time coach, offering cricket classes in schools and clubs. His cricketing career took a significant turn when he was selected as one of the three reserve players for the home ODI series against Ireland.
However, the pivotal moment arrived when he was included in England’s T20 squad for the home series against India. On July 9, 2022, he made his international debut and swiftly dismissed Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Rishabh Pant in just 8 deliveries.

Wicket On IPL Debut
Richard Gleeson entered CSK’s Playing XI as the fourth overseas player after Matheesha Pathirana was sidelined from the match against Punjab Kings due to a niggle.
CSK struggled to score freely and could only post 162/7 in 20 overs, with captain Ruturaj Gaikwad leading the charge with 62 runs off 48 deliveries.
To kick off on the right note, Chennai needed an early wicket, and that’s exactly what Gleeson delivered.

After bowling a tidy first over, where he conceded just four runs, the 36-year-old commenced the second over with a length ball that swung away from Prabhsimran Singh. While attempting a big shot, the PBKS batter could only sky the ball, which was then caught by Ruturaj Gaikwad at mid-off.
At the time of writing this news piece, Gleeson bowled three overs and conceded only 23 runs.
