MI vs RCB Dream11 Prediction: Mumbai Indians will be aiming to clock back-to-back wins for the first time in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season when they host Royal Challengers Bangalore at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday evening, April 11, 2024. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 07:30 PM (IST).
Asked to bat first by Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant, Rohit Sharma (49 off 27) and Ishan Kishan (42 off 23) made the best possible start for Mumbai Indians as the duo added 80 runs in just 6.5 overs. Runs continued to flow despite MI losing Suryakumar Yadav for 0, and Tilak Varma for just six runs, with Hardik Pandya (39 off 33) and Tim David (45 off 21) the chief architect of scoring charts during the middle overs.
But the real difference, the most crucial runs for MI in the end, came from the bat of Romario Shepherd. The West Indian smashed 39 runs off just 10 balls, with 32 of those runs coming in the last over of Anrich Nortje. Considering Mi won by 29 runs, the onslaught in the final over was the real deal for the five-time IPL champions.
With that win, MI and Hardik Pandya are up and running for the season. The only issue is that there’s no more room for error if Mumbai are to qualify for the playoffs.

For the Royal Challengers Bangalore, the hopes are getting bleak with each passing game. This version of RCB is the story that has been played innumerous times in the past. It’s nothing new. Same old RCB, with too much dependence on Virat Kohli, and bowlers hardly rising up to the challenge.
Since the days of great Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers, the bowling unit has always been the Achilles heal for RCB and that is exactly what it is today. Mohammad Siraj is leaking runs and is short of wickets, while the likes of Mayank Dagar, Cameron Green and Yash Dayal can only be the supporting cast at best.
RCB have lost four times in the five rounds and another defeat could really put them in a hole even Virat Kohli might not able to haul them out from.
MI vs RCB Pitch & Weather Report
Pitch Report: The pitch at Wankhede Stadium comes only with one package that throws all its support behind the batsmen. The short boundaries and quick outfield make the life even easier for the batters. The last match was a good indicator of what we can expect from the deck at this ground. There’s every chance that a team batting first crosses the 180-run mark.
Weather Report: Though the summer are peaking, with excessive heat grappling the most part of India, the temperature is likely to drop from around 36°C in the noon to 32°C – 33°C when the match commences at 07:30 PM. The humidity level might reach till 60% and that might come into play in the 2nd innings. There’s no or very little chance of rain.

MI vs RCB Dream11 Prediction: Injury and availability News
Mumbai Indians
- After the first win of the season against Delhi Capitals. Mumbai Indians have every reason to stick with the same playing XI.
- That means, Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Mohammad Nabi and Gerald Coetzee keep their places as four overseas players in MI Playing 11.
- Suryakumar Yadav failed to open the scoring after getting out on a two-ball duck. But the 33-year-old will start for the 5-time IPL champions.
- Piyush Chawla has been taken for a ride in every game, but expect the veteran to start the match in any case.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
- Cameron Green and Glenn Maxwell have been big disappointment for RCB, but the duo is expected to be in RCB Playing XI.
- Faf du Plessis will start as captain while Reece Topley, who was one of the positives for RCB against Rajasthan Royals, should be in the starting line up as well.
- Sourav Chauhan might lose his place after failing to impact the match against the Royals.
TOP Picks For MI vs RCB Dream 11 Match
Captain Options:
- Virat Kohli: The lone fighter for RCB. He deserves a better view on the IPL table, but his teammates, especially the bowlers, have let him down big time. But on the positive side, the 35-year-old has been the best batter in the IPL 2024, leading the scoring charts with 316 runs in 5 innings. The next best on the table is Sai Sudarshan who is on 191 runs. That’s a big difference.
IPL 2024 Stats From Last Match: 113 runs (72, 12X4s, 4X6s). - Rohit Sharma: Scored a brisk 49-run off just 27 balls. When he clicks, MI usually gets to a flyer and post a big total. The Indian captain remains one of the best batters in white-ball cricket. He is a solid pick for the MI vs RCB Dream11 Fantasy Cricket Teams.
IPL 2024 Stats From Last Match: 49 runs (27, 6X4s, 3X6s). - Tim David: A dangerous player who can hit any bowler out of the park. The 28-year-old is in good form and that was quite evident as he was hitting runs with confidence and precision against the Delhi Capitals.
IPL 2024 Stats From Last Match: 45 runs (21, 2X4s, 4X6s). - Faf du Plessis: The South African is feeling the heat due to RCB’s indifferent start to the season. But on the batting front, he is in decent touch, but a big score is needed, and he might get one here.
IPL 2024 Stats From Last Match: 44 runs (33, 2X4s, 2X6s). - Jasprit Bumrah: How good a bowler can be? Bumrah is the pinnacle of standards in every form of cricket. He is just too good. The Indian speedster picked up two crucial wickets, including a toe-crusher against Prithvi Shaw.
IPL 2024 Stats From Last Match: 4-0-22-02
Vice-Captain Options:
- Romario Shepherd: His 39 runs off just 10 balls proved to be the difference for MI against DC. Add in his bowling skills to the fold, and you get a player who guaranteed at least 50 points during his field day.
IPL 2024 Stats From Last Match: 39 runs (10, 3X4s, 4X6s). - Gerlad Coetzee: Picked up four wickets in the last match against DC. He has the knack for breaking partnerships.
IPL 2024 Stats From Last Match: 4-0-34-4. - Glenn Maxwell: For some strange reasons, Glenn Maxwell has been out of form for RCB. And that’s the big reason why the Bangalore outfit is on the wrong end of the IPL 2024 table. That said, he remains one of the best all-rounders in the white-ball cricket.
