Both franchises are under new captaincy with Shubman Gill leading Gujarat Titans, while Hardik Pandya has been given the command of the Mumbai outfit.
The focus of the match is on Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma. It’s no secret that Rohit was removed from the captaincy in favor of Pandya, a decision that left MI fan based bemused and angry. So it will be interesting to see if the off field activities impact MI in any way when they come out on to the field.

Suryakumar Yadav has been nursing an ankle injury. There’s no official update on how much the star batter has made progress on that, but it looks certain that he will be missing Mumbai Indians’ match against Gujarat Titans.
Surya has been out of cricket field since suffering an ankle injury in the 3rd T20I match against South Africa, in which he also captained the side. Surya was the normal himself in that game as he blasted the Proteas all over the park on his way to a 56-ball century that included 8 sixes.
