IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants are set to play Rajasthan Royals in the opening game of Indian Super League 2024 match at Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium on Sunday, March 24. Both teams are gunning for a winning start to the new season with qualifying for the top-four a minimum target. Last season LSG made it into the playoffs where they were knocked out by Mumbai Indians. The Royals on the other hand had to contend with the 5th place.
IPL 2024: Rajasthan Royals Name Only Three Overseason Player vs LSG
Rajasthan Royals won the toss the decided to bat first in the RR vs LSG match. It was a no no-nonsense decision considering the LSG squad will be in the field under the scorching sun.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler will be opening with Sanju Samson set to come at no-3 for the home side. Interestingly, the Royals have gone with just three overseas players in the form of Jos Buttler, Shimron Hetmyer and Trent Boult.

IPL 2024: Why Deepak Hooda Isn’t Playing In Today Match?
Deepak Hooda is a seasoned T20 player now. He is known for his big-hitting skills. It was a surprise that his name was missing from LSG Playing 11 against Rajasthan. But since teams can now substitute player in the 2nd innings, Lucknow Super Giants are likely to use Deepak Hooda in the 2nd innings when they come out to bat.
The Giants named Quinton de Kock, Marcos Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran and Naveen Ul-Haq as the four overseas players in their Playing XI.

Avesh Khan Made IPL Debut For Rajasthan Royals
Avesh Khan made his debut for Rajasthan against Lucknow Super Giants. Ahead of IPL 2024, Avesh was shipped to Rajasthan Royals in exchange for Devdutt Padikkal. He spent two years with the Lucknow franchise and helped them qualify for playoffs in each season.
