IPL 2024: Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant won an important toss and opted to bat first at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium. After losing twice in as many games, DC are under immense pressure heading into this game. If the result go South again for Capitals, they will find themselves rooted at the foot of the table. More importantly, there will be a prominent gap reflecting on the IPL 2024 Points table between them and the top-four teams, and bridging that gap would be quite difficult for DC considering the form they are in at the moment.

At the toss, Rishabh Pant provided update on DC Playing 11. One of the big names that was missing from the list was of Kuldeep Yadav. Pant revealed that the in-form Indian spinner had a niggle and was deemed unfit for the clash against the reigning champions.
Kuldeep struggled against Rajasthan Royals as he was taken for cleaners by the likes of Riyan Parag and Ravichandran Ashwin. In the four overs, Kuldeep gave away 41 runs, but managed to take one wicket.

Prithvi Shaw failed to get into DC’s playing 11 in the first two games, but the stars have shone on him as the left-hander is back in DC Playing XI against CSK.
Veteran Indian fast-bowler Ishant Sharma is also back in the playing 11, with Ricky Bhui getting the axe ahead of the match. Bhui failed to make any sort of impact in the first two games. So his expulsion from the playing 11 isn’t a surprise.
