MI vs DC IPL 2024: Mumbai Indians amassed a massive total of 234/5 in their 20 overs during their home match against Delhi Capitals. DC required an extraordinary effort from their batsmen to come close to MI’s total. However, with David Warner dismissed in the fourth over, the visitors faced an even uphill task.
Nonetheless, Prithvi Shaw took the fight to Hardik Pandya’s team, scoring a quick half-century. Shaw, along with Abhishek Porel, added 88 runs for the 2nd wicket in just 49 balls. At that point, DC seemed to be on course for a shocking victory. However, then Jasprit Bumrah turned the tide.
Bumrah Clean Bowled Shaw In MI vs DC IPL 2024
As Shaw and Porel were looking to hit every ball for a boundary, Pandya decided to bring back his start bowler to the attack and then the magic happened.
DC’s score at the end of 11 overs was 107/1 and they needed 128 runs more at 14.22 runs per over. In the 12th over, Bumrah gave only 4 runs in the first four balls. Shaw was under pressure to score and was eying to play a big shot, but Bumrah produced a toe-crusher, an absolute beauty of a ball that seemed to curve in, smacking the stumps. That was the most typical delivery of Bumrah. That sight has been played in the past. Shaw was bamboozled and could only see Bumrah with nothing but praise. Watch the video:

MI Recorded Their First Win In IPL 2024
Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to field first, a decision that immediately backfired as Mumbai Indians made a blazing start. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan forged an explosive partnership, amassing 80 runs in just 41 balls.
Despite the early dismissals of Suryakumar Yadav (0 off 2) and Tilak Varma (6 off 5), Mumbai Indians continued to pile on the runs.
Tim David stepped up during the latter stages, contributing a brisk 45 runs off just 21 balls. However, it was Romario Shepherd’s impressive display that truly stood out. His quickfire 39 runs off 10 balls proved to be crucial.
The highlight of the first innings came in the final over, where Shepherd hammered Anrich Nortje for 32 runs, including four towering sixes.
Delhi Capitals did bat brilliantly but the target was too big to chase down, especially considering they also had to negotiate four overs of Bumrah.
Bumrah gave away only 22 runs in 4 overs, and that spell really deflated DC’s chances of getting closer to the target.
