Spectators are the soul of any sport. They make the matches special. They create an enviable atmosphere inside any stadium, check Anfield for example, Liverpool’s famous football stadium. Without fans, any stadium, be it Santiago Bernabeu or Narendra Modi Stadium, would just be a concrete building. And there’s no dearth of passion for cricket in Pakistan. This sport, just like in India, is their favorite past-time. Their go to adventure in times of solitude, an adobe of light when there’s darkness. But the Karachi Leg of Pakistan Super League has been plagued by low attendance. But there was hope still before the PSL Final that fans would turn up, but that was not the case.
Fans Show Displeasure Over Low Attendance In PSL Final Match Between Multan Sultans And Islamabad United
PCB chose an odd day of Monday to host the all-important PSL Final. If that was not strange enough, despite all the signs that Karachi crowd is totally disinterested in the PSL match, PCB stilled opted to host the final at National Stadium Karachi. Fans in Pakistan are not happy either as lack of crowd looks a shade bad on PSL brand.

Some fans even went on to compare the attendance in the WPL final, which was a full house in Delhi, with the PSL Final, which is being played in front of empty seats.

Despite the lack of interest for PSL in Karachi, there’s no doubt PSL is growing and will only get better with time. Teams’ budget has increased over time, while players are also earning more than what they used to at the start of PSL.
