The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced Mohammad Rizwan as the captain of Pakistan’s T20I and ODI teams on Sunday. The wicketkeeper-batsman will succeed Babar Azam as Pakistan’s new white-ball captain, with his first assignment being to lead the team on their white-ball tour of Australia, where they will play three ODIs and three T20Is beginning on November 4. The PCB also appointed Salman Ali Agha as the team’s vice-captain, signaling the board’s intent to give the team a fresh start across all formats of the game.
Mohammad Rizwan is Pakistan’s 31st ODI Captain and 12th T20I Captain
After the PCB’s announcement on Sunday, Mohammad Rizwan became Pakistan’s 31st ODI captain and 12th T20I captain. His first assignment as Pakistan’s captain will be the ODI match against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on November 4. Following the announcement, an ecstatic Rizwan expressed that he is deeply honored to lead his team in white-ball cricket.

What is Mohammad Rizwan’s ODI and T20I record?
Mohammad Rizwan made his debut for Pakistan on April 17, 2015, in an ODI match against Bangladesh. Although Pakistan lost that match, Rizwan showcased his capability as a batsman, scoring 67 runs off just 58 balls at the age of 23. He made his T20I debut a week later against the same opponent. To date, Rizwan has represented Pakistan in 74 ODIs and 102 T20I matches.
