PAK vs BAN Test: Bangladesh made history by defeating Pakistan in the first Test match of the ongoing two-match series. This victory marks Bangladesh’s first win in the longest format of cricket against Pakistan. As expected, the Pakistani players who participated in the first Test are facing a barrage of criticism from former cricketers and fans alike. Shahid Afridi and Ahmed Shahzad were among the first to express their frustration at the performance of the current crop of Pakistani players. Now, Kamran Akmal has also joined the chorus, going into full criticism mode following his country’s poor showing against Bangladesh in the first Test.

Kamran Akram rips through Pakistan cricket team
Before the first test match of the ongoing series, Bangladesh had never beaten Pakistan in the test matches. In fact, Bangladesh’s record was so poor that it doesn’t make for a good reading. In 13 test matches against Pakistan, Bangladesh lost 12 times while avoiding defeat in only one game. That’s why the 10-wicket win in the first test match was a milestone for Bangladesh Cricket team.
Kamran Akmal went to his YouTube channel and lambasted Pakistan players’ performance.
“Ye to Rizwan ne 50 kiya aur scoreboard chalaya warna innings se haarte. Ye itni buri haar hai ki bhooli nahi jaegi. Aap kisi ka bura sochoge to aapke saath bhi bura hi hoga. Aapne pichle 5 saalon se kuch nahi seekha. Aap Zimbabwe se haar gaye. Pichle saal aap Asia Cup se baahar ho gaye the. Abhi aap itna zaleel hue hain world cup me, Pakistan cricket ka mazaak ban chuka hai globally. (Had Rizwan not scored a 50 and ran the scoreboard, you’ve would’ve lost by an innings. You haven’t learned anything in the last 5 years. You lost to Zimbabwe. Last year, you were eliminated from Asia Cup. You were humiliated at the T20 World Cup. Made a complete mockery of Pakistan cricket),” Akmal said on his YouTube channel.
Bangladesh showed Pakistan’s weakness: Kamran
Despite scoring 448/6 in the first innings, Pakistan lost the match by 10 wickets. Kamran Akmal pointed out that the heavy defeat was largely due to the approach of the Pakistani players throughout the Test match. It has long been rumored that there is an apparent rift within the Pakistan cricket dressing room, with some players not seeing eye to eye.
“It was a difficult time for Bangladesh but their batters scored runs. They had to save the Test, and they not only did that but also won the game. They basically exposed Pakistan cricket. And our players were batting like club cricketers. Sorry, not even club cricketers play like this. The approach was poor. Players are having a laugh in the dressing room, there is no seriousness because they know nobody will ask anything. It seems that you are playing for fun,” Akmal added.
Pakistan team will be under immense pressure going into the 2nd test match which starts on August 30, 2024.
