Shadab Khan has urged his fellow team-mate Imad Wasim to reconsider his future plans and make himself available for Pakistan cricket team ahead of T20 World Cup.
Imad Wasim was in red-form throughout the recently concluded Pakistan Super League. He produced an absolute show with the bowling in the final as he ripped through Multan Sultans batting lineup with a five wicket haul, ending with hugely impressive figures of 5-23. It was the first instance that a bowler picked up a five-wicket haul in the PSL final. This was also the third straight game in which Wasim produced goods worthy of changing the game, with either bat or ball. He also picked up 3 wickets in Eliminator 1, and scored unbeaten 59 runs in the second play off match against Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi.
Shadab Khan Urges Imad Wasim To Come Out Of Retirement
Now the captain of Islamabad United Shadab Khan has pleaded with Imad Wasim to reconsider his retirement because he could be a difference maker for Pakistan cricket team in the T20 world cup. Shadab also thinks that the conditions in West Indies and the USA could be tailored-made for the 35-year-old all-rounder who has been in great form with both bat and ball.
“I want to, in fact, when Imad made the decision, I had also talked to him that I didn’t want him to leave.”
“Because Pakistan needs players like him. God willing, if there is a discussion with him, hopefully he will come back because the World Cup is approaching and the way he is performing and his experience in CPL (Caribbean Premier League), Pakistan definitely needs him,’ Shadab said.
Did Imad Wasim Play In The Last T20 World Cup?
Imad Wasim hasn’t played T20 for Pakistan since April last year. He was also overlooked for the T20 World Cup in Australia, with selectors choosing Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan instead. Imad did play in the 2021 T20 World Cup where he picked up four wickets in six games, with his best figures of 2/25 coming against Afghanistan in Dubai.
