T20 World Cup: The Indian Cricket Team finally ended an 11-year drought by winning the ICC T20 World Cup. Their seven-run victory against South Africa marks India’s first ICC trophy since 2013. This triumph also breaks their unfortunate streak in the finals of ICC tournaments, including the ODI World Cup and the ICC Test Championships in 2021 and 2023. T20 World Cup: BCCI Announces Prize Money of RS 125 Crore
Following India’s win in the final, the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah took to social media to announce the big prize for all the members who were part of Team India winning the T20 World Cup.
“I am pleased to announce prize money of INR 125 Crores for Team India for winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The team has showcased exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Congratulations to all the players, coaches, and support staff for this outstanding achievement,” Jay Shah posted on X.

Earlier, Shah also congratulated the Indian Cricket Team for winning the 2024 T20 World Cup against South Africa. Shah praised Rohit Sharma’s incredible leadership skills and highlighted India’s unbeaten run during the tournament. For the unversed, Indian team won every match during the title run-in, and became the first team in the history of T20 World Cup to win the T20 Showpiece event without losing a single match.

Big Players Announcing Retirement
Soon after India’s title win against South Africa, superstar batsman Virat Kohli announced his retirement from T20Is. Kohli ended on a high note, winning the Man-of-the-Match award for his outstanding innings of 76 runs.
Captain Rohit Sharma also made a shocking announcement shortly after, declaring his retirement from the 20-over format. On Sunday, star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja followed suit, announcing his retirement from T20Is as well.
