Three Legends Announced Retirement
Three icons of Indian cricket have announced their retirement from T20Is. First, it was Virat Kohli who, immediately after his man-of-the-match performance against South Africa in the final, declared his departure from the 20-over format.
Next, it was captain Rohit Sharma’s turn. During the post-match interaction, he announced his retirement from T20Is, stating that it was the perfect moment to bid farewell to this format.
“That was my last game as well. Honestly, I have enjoyed it since the time I started playing this format. There is no better time to say goodbye to this format. I have loved every moment of it. I started my India career playing this format. This is what I wanted to do. win the Cup and say (goodbye,)”Rohit was quoted as saying.
On Sunday, star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also announced that he would be taking a retirement from the 20-over cricket.
