Virat Kohli’s ‘Naagin’ Dance During IND vs BAN 1st Test
Virat Kohli might not have lived up to expectations as a batsman in the first Test match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, but he did entertain the fans. On the third day of the IND vs BAN 1st Test, the RCB superstar pulled off the “Naagin” dance, a signature move of the Bangladesh cricket team.
In the past, the Bangladesh team has performed the Naagin dance after winning a match. This particular mode of celebration gained prominence when Nazmul Islam Apu showcased the Naagin dance after taking a wicket against Sri Lanka on February 15, 2018. Since then, the Bangladesh team has pulled this move to celebrate their wins. Watch:

India strengthened their position in the ICC Test Championship.
Despite Virat Kohli’s lack of contribution with the bat, India still outplayed Bangladesh convincingly. Thanks to Ravichandran Ashwin’s incredible century in the first innings, coupled with significant contributions from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravindra Jadeja, India posted 376 runs. The bowlers then turned up the pressure, bowling Bangladesh out for just 149 runs, giving India a substantial 227-run lead going into the second innings.
Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant scored centuries in the second innings, and India eventually declared at 287/4, setting Bangladesh a record target of 515 runs.
Though Bangladesh’s batsmen showed resilience at times, especially captain Najmul Hossain Shanto (82), this was always going to be an improbable chase. The visitors ultimately surrendered at 234 runs, with India winning the first Test match by 280 runs.
With this big win, India strengthened their position at the top of the ICC Test Championship table, raising their points percentage to 71.67.
India will be looking to clean sweep the visitors when the second Test match of this series begins on September 27.
